Happy Chinese New Year to all.. hope it will be a happening one for everyone.. hahaha.. all the visitings and gambling.. x=
though every yr.. it was not as happening as before.. less visitings.. and more of us cant be as much bothered as before.. but it was still a family gathering each time..

21st birthday celebration for miss xinying at demsey's b&j.. suppose to be sort of a surprise for her and i guess we did surprise her a little.. hahaha.. and the theme was red and almost all of us were wearing red.. til we receive attention cos of the outstanding colour.. hahaha..
the nachos there was in huge serving.. very nice!
see i eat until like tt you know how nice liao.. hahaha..

well deserved rest days on monday and tuesday.. and for once after so long.. i felt like a civilian walking down the not-so-busy street on a weekday.. and still able to see pple in school uniforms.. and chilling out at vivo by the sea.. felt so relax.. and maybe bcos its a big load off the mind already.. that's why..
back to camp later.. and hopefully.. things will change and pple will treat us better..
and pray hard my foot rot recover!

the hellweek mood had been here since everyone book in after new year.. and its gonna be so true now.. where all the necessary prepartions had been done..
things like..
- double check contact details/next-of-kin contacts (in case anything happen, touchwood)
- paying $10 for pizza party and $3 for laundry
- getting our saucony tights
- hellweek briefing (what to do during breakout and wad to be prepared)
- re-arranging of boat-mates
- selecting hellweek IC
- etc. etc. etc.
all these will happen in a few days time.. 5 days of training.. to build the team spirit among the 30th batch.. and to see the true colours of everyone during this 5 days.. and also to challenge everyone's limit and see how far can we go.. and how far can we cooperate and help each other.. so in future in times of war.. NDU will be the most united unit among all.. ((((;'
and i guess hellweek will be something similar to running a full marathon.. not to give up.. and the 1st two days will be like the first half of the marathon.. u chiong like mad.. and u still have energy.. and the last 3 days.. its all in the mind and see how u wanna handle it.. with the "give-up" thought keep coming in..

2008 has ended and we have now welcome Year 2009.. be it we welcome it or we dislike it.. it has till come..
"looking back"
2008 has been a rather good year for me i should say.. in overall.. had some achievement.. new experiences.. and learn many new things..
graduated in January and managed to witness the "around the world's clippers race" stopover in Spore as i was part of the marine service crew.. then began learning diving and it was a whole new experience to dive and i continued my advance in June..
I still have my vespa for the 1st quarter of my year and i went for my first overseas ride to Pengarrang with VCS.. very fun! hmmm.. and i graduted officially from SP in May.. and continue working at Marina @ Keppel Bay til i enlist.. which was a whole new working experience.. something i really like.. with the sun and the sea.. and of course.. boats!
went to Hong Kong and China with my mum and it was fun and it was quite sometime since i last board a plane.. and also.. i sailed on STS Pallada which was certainly an honour given by Capt FF to be part of this trip.. and i make many new russians friends.. and had a really good experience onboard..
in 2008.. i still participated in Hair for Hope to shave head in support of Children Cancer.. and also continue to finish my 2nd full marathon..
and the last quarter of the year is certinaly the main highlights.. which is to serve the nation in the Navy.. and it was the start of my 2 years NS life.. made many new friends.. grown fitter phyically and mentally.. and learn many new things.. and i am still in the mid of it (hellweek is coming!)
kept many friends in 2008 and of course made many many new friends too.. and also to meet back with my childhood neighbours.. and everyone was there to colour my year 2008 to make it memorable and meaningful..
and now the year has come to an end.. and its the start of another year.. 2009..
"look forward"
and for that.. for the whole year will mainly be just serving my NS and the very first thing i hope for the year is to be able to pass through hellweek safely! and to continue and pass out as a frogman.. that is the main focus now.. a simple resolution for the year.. bcos i can't think of anything except this.. but maybe after it happens.. then i can slowly figure out what i want to do this year.. (((;'

booked out in the afternoon.. went home change and went bugis to meet adrian jeric guangliang.. and weiling came to.. and we had MOF for dinner.. and desert..

then i went to Haji Lane with weiling.. emilyn.. zhengyu.. sharon.. weiliang and wl's classmates..
and of course.. go there for..

and some drinking..
and there were also some dancers..
and it was really relax and a good chill out place to be..
then me and ling left there at 11 for city hall hoping to catch the fireworks at a good spot but by the time we got there.. it was super packed everywhere! cant cross to esplande.. so just stay behind the esplande bridge and find a okok spot and plant my tripod there.. and wait..
and the fireworks was so-so cos my main thing was to SNAP!

everyone is partying and having fun countdowning to a new year.. dancing.. drinking.. having fun.. gathering.. and this is all you see in the streets of Singapore at the last day of 2008.. with all the laughters.. happiness..
i came across the old lady at haji lane..
she was walking to and fro the road picking up cans.. and useful rubbish that people do not want.. and she was just alone.. and when i look into her face.. it tells me that.. to her.. its just another day and this is just another year of her life.. there is nothing for her to be happy about and nth for her to celebrate.. as long as she have her meals and live.. its okay already.. so i wonder where did her love one go? and did they ever tried looking for her..
so when we were shouting "5.. 4.. 3.. 2.. 1.. " i wonder how she feels seeing everyone around her.. with companion.. with friends.. and she was there alone.. and do anyone even bother about her.. or find her a hindrance..
learn to cherish each and everyone around you.. you won't want any of the people around you to end up like these.. i still believe there is always "LOVE" in this world and there will always be.. hope she have a great year too! (((;'
